Fame uses 6 modular game boards to allow a near-infinite number of customizable maps of the player’s own design. It even allows the removal of one of the boards so that there are only 5, effectively giving the players an option to play a quicker game without it being a worse experience.

Above: original character illustration. More about this process at the bottom of the page. Below: example of prototype design.

The game itself moves quickly due to a unique gameplay element: each player gets their own D4 and rolls at the end of their turn, thus allowing you to plan out your next turn while others take theirs. This also turns what is usually output randomness into something more like input randomness.
